5th Grade Rocket Report
AVID
5th grade AVID helps to prepare students to be college bound and ready. We focus on organization as well as the use of scholarly language. When students speak using scholarly language, they become more equipped to enter higher education and the work force. We will help encourage our students toward college readiness by initiating Think College Tuesdays. Both students and teachers alike will be invited to wear college shirts every Tuesday. This will help students become excited about college as well as opening their eyes to the different colleges that they may be interested in attending.

Math Goal
One of our math goals this year is to work on multiplication fact fluency. This will help your students quickly recall facts while workng through problems. Multiplication flashcards can be purchased for practice or your students can make fact cards during intervention to practice at home. We will be taking a timed test soon.
Reading Goal
Reading fluency is another goal we will be working on this year. By reading daily, studnets can inprove thier fluency tremendously.
Science Goal
Our science goal is vocabulary related. In order to improve fluency as well as build comprehension and problem solving. Please ask your students about their vocabulary words regularly.
